Brynn Capella Handbags

Care Instructions

Allison Hobo in Italian Leather - coming back soon

Brynn Capella Handbags and Accessories are made of beautiful Italian leather, 100% cotton decorator fabrics, exclusive silk brocades and imported fabrics from France. Grain and slight differences of color are characteristics of the leather. The leather is natural, untreated (with exceptions), and can spot and sometimes lose color.

Particular care is recommended for: Laminate colors (metallic) because contact with lacquer, perfume, and anything containing alcohol and derivatives can cause damage.

Our handbags look absolutely gorgeous when you first buy them, but as with all quality leather, if you expect them to stay looking that way, they need to be treated with a weatherproof protection and care. There are a few care and maintenance steps that you are going to want to be aware of to ensure that your handbag is kept in mint condition for years to come.

Storage

The way that you store your handbag is also important. Keep your handbag stuffed when not in use, This will help to maintain it's shape. Also leather handbags should not be stored in plastic bags or other nonporous covers because this will encourage the growth of mildew and bacteria which will end up ruining the leather. Instead, you want to keep your leather handbag stored in a dry environment, away from dust, dirt and moisture.

Chemicals

When it comes to the chemicals that you use to clean your leather handbag, you need to be very careful. Turpentine and mineral spirits must be avoided as they can pull color, and caustic household chemicals should never be used to clean leather and leather preparations that contain alcohol should also be avoided.

When it comes to cleaning up fresh stains like food items off your handbag, you just need to use a damp cloth and this will usually be enough. Those from oil or grease can be cleaned by grinding ordinary blackboard chalk and sprinkling the area then leaving the powder on for a twenty-four hour period.

Maintenance

For your fabric and leather combo handbag, you need to take care of both parts differently.

We strongly recommend spraying fabrics (except silk brocades) with a protective spray (i.e. Scotchguard) to keep your bag looking clean and new. You can use a universal-use spray for fabrics, suede and leather (found in most shoe or handbag departments). Simple regular treatments will help prevent handling and water marks from becoming stains. Some decorator fabrics may require brushing to restore appearance. If ever in question, please have them cleaned by a professional.

For all the leather parts of your handbag, use a soft cloth and a leather conditioning cream and follow instructions. This should be done three or four times a year, and this facilitates the durability, shine, and increases the beauty of the bag overall.

By following these important steps and keeping this information in mind, you will be able to keep your leather handbag looking pristine and gorgeous. You may also want to bring your leather handbag into a professional on a regular basis so that they can take care of this work for you. Of course you will have to pay a fee for this but it will be well worth it to keep your leather handbag looking brand new.

Leather handbags can really last you a lifetime, as long as you take care of them and perform proper and regular maintenance on them with the right products.
